From the Capital article: “New York conservatives enlist a Georgia campaign-finance lawyer” – Nov. 25, 2013:
On Friday, the local attorney for Freedom New York petitioned the U.S. District Court, Northern District of New York, to allow Douglas Chalmers, Jr. of Atlanta to participate in the case.
Chalmers specializes in campaign finance law, and was the chairman of Lawyers for Rudy Giuliani in the Southeastern United States.
Freedom New York is challenging the contribution limits, along with the conservative national Hispanic Leadership Fund. If the groups are successful in their court challenge, independent expenditure committees will be allowed to accept unlimited donations.
