Personal Experience & Biography

Casey Stafford focuses her practice on advising candidates, officeholders, political committees, donors, corporations, and consultants through the political process and on the federal and state laws governing their activity.

Casey counsels clients on compliance with campaign finance, government ethics, election, pay-to-play, and lobbying laws, as well as with the Foreign Agent Registration Act. She also guides nonprofit organizations on securing and retaining tax exemption.

Casey also brings forward experience in representing clients involved in investigations, audits, and enforcement matters before the Federal Election Commission, U.S. Senate Select Committee on Ethics, U.S. House Committee on Ethics, and various state agencies.

Prior to her time in private practice, Casey served as Deputy General Counsel to the Republican Governors Association, where she helped the organization navigate complex laws to meet their multistate political and public policy goals. Casey also served in multiple roles on Capitol Hill, including with the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations.  

Casey received her undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi, where she majored in Public Policy as a member of the Trent Lott Leadership Institute. She received her law degree from Mississippi College School of Law, and she is a member of the Mississippi Bar.
