Personal Experience & Biography

Juan is a bilingual Associate in our Alpharetta office, where he focuses his practice on business litigation and corporate representation. Prior to joining CABK, Juan was an associate in the Alpharetta office of a large Atlanta based firm, where he negotiated mergers and acquisitions, successfully litigated breach of contract actions, and provided general corporate representation to clients. Juan also has experienced with 501(c)(3) matters, which include formation and reinstatements. Recently, Juan successfully obtain a client’s tax exemption designation letter within 27 days, which allowed the client to assist with refugee evacuation following the withdrawal from Afghanistan. In addition, Juan has successfully reinstated multiple charities’ tax-exempted status with the IRS. Juan believes that small to midsize businesses are the lifeblood of the American economy and strives to develop solutions for clients to thrive in a competitive marketplace.

Juan earned a J.D. from Emory University School of Law. While at Emory, Juan served as a Senior Editor for the Journal of Law & Religion, where he wrote about the intersection of tax law and church rights. During law school, Juan obtained trial experience at the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office and the Fulton County Solicitor’s Office. Juan also holds a B.A., magna cum laude, from Georgia State University. During his time at GSU, Juan served as the President for Sigma Nu, was voted Greek Person of the Year, and was the recipient of the Kenneth M. England Scholarship for academic excellence.

In his free time, Juan enjoys spending time outdoors with his dog, golfing with his friends, and attending sporting events. He is active in his church and serves on the Georgia State Alumni Advisory Board for Sigma Nu.
